Overview
FCO-3C-HP is a high-precision surface-mount crystal oscillator designed for engineers who need stable clock performance in a compact 3.2×2.5 mm footprint. It offers LVCMOS output, supply options of 1.8 V / 2.5 V / 3.3 V, frequencies from 2.5 to 60 MHz, and tight frequency-stability choices down to ±10 ppm across industrial temperatures. Fast ≤2 ms start-up and very low ≤0.5 ps RMS phase jitter (12 kHz–20 MHz) make it suitable for wireless connectivity, mobile devices and smart metering. See our crystal controlled oscillator guide (XO/TCXO/VCXO/OCXO) and a practical crystal vs MEMS comparison for context.
Key Features
- Precision Tight stability: ±10 ppm over −40~+85 °C; ±15/±20 ppm options over −40~+95 °C.
- Low Jitter Typical ≤0.5 ps RMS (12 kHz–20 MHz).
- Fast Start ≤2 ms start-up with tri-state enable on Pin-1.
- Low Power 4–6 mA max @ 15 pF load, ≤10 µA standby.
- Robust ±3 ppm/year aging (first year at 25 °C).

Typical Applications

- Wireless connectivity modules (Wi-Fi/BT/LPWAN)
- Mobile and handheld devices
- Smart meters and utility endpoints
- General-purpose embedded and industrial control

Design Tips
- Decouple Vdd with a 0.1 µF ceramic capacitor placed within a few millimeters of the device pins.
- Keep the LVCMOS output trace short and away from high-edge-rate signals; maintain continuous ground return.
- Use the OE (Pin-1) to place the device in standby for low-power modes; ensure VIH/VIL thresholds are met.
