With the rapid development of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT), AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) has emerged as a new trend in the digital age. The implementation of AIoT not only demonstrates tremendous potential in areas such as smart homes and smart cities but also brings new possibilities for industrial automation, healthcare monitoring, and more. Within AIoT, crystal oscillators, as essential hardware components, face a series of special requirements and challenges.

Frequency Stability:

In industrial IoT applications, intelligent sensor nodes require real-time and accurate collection of environmental data, which is then transmitted to the cloud for analysis and processing. The high-frequency stability of crystal oscillators is crucial for ensuring that sensor nodes can accurately collect data and achieve data transmission. However, factors such as temperature fluctuations and voltage variations in different environmental conditions can affect the frequency stability of crystal oscillators, requiring them to have good anti-interference capabilities.

Our High Precision OSC FCO-HP Series offers +/-10ppm stability over -40~85℃ & +/-15ppm stability over -40~95℃, package available in 2.5*2.0, 3.2*2.5.

In response to this requirement, we also launched high-precision VCTCXO, the FVT-HP series. It offers +/-0.05ppm stability over -10~70℃ & +/-0.28ppm stability over -40~85℃, package available in 5.0*3.2, 7.0*5.0.

Low Power Design:

In smart homes and wearable devices, which often rely on battery power, low power design is a significant challenge for crystal oscillators. Crystal oscillators need to minimize power consumption while ensuring stable frequency, thus extending the device's battery life and improving user experience. Against this backdrop, higher demands are placed on the design, optimization, and energy management of crystal oscillators.

Our Ultra-Low Current OSC FCO-UC series is designed exactly for this requirement. Current Consumption of FCO-UC is only 1.4uA typical, package available in 2.0*1.6, 32.768kHz.

Despite Ultra-Low Current consumption, we do designed an Ultra-low Power OSC to reduce power consumption, the FCO-UP series. Supply voltage of FCO-UP are as low as 0.9V with the feature of Low Noise, 0.3ps at 12kHz~20MHz offsets. Packages available in 2.5*2.0, 3.2*2.5.

Miniaturization and Integration:

With the proliferation of IoT devices and the expansion of application scenarios, higher requirements are placed on the miniaturization and integration of crystal oscillators. Crystal oscillators need to be designed in smaller sizes and lighter weights, or integrated with oscillator functions at the chip level, to meet the demand for device miniaturization and integration, thus enhancing device integration and performance density.

In terms of miniaturization solutions, our OSC FCO-1C Series is able to reach as small as 1.6*1.2 while our crystal FCX-1S is available in 1.2*1.0 package. Our next-generation of small-size crystal in package 1.0*0.8 is also on the way to mass production.

In embracing the new era and achieving AIoT, the special requirements and challenges faced by crystal oscillators are undeniable. Only through continuous technological innovation and optimization, enhancing the performance and stability of crystal oscillators, can better support the development of AIoT applications, and promote the progress and application of intelligent technology.
